This notice explains how Drive for Five uses information when you play the game, use the public leaderboard or choose to allow analytics and advertising technologies.

Who runs the site

Drive for Five is an independent, fan-made Ryder Cup captaincy game made for entertainment. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Ryder Cup, the PGA of America, Ryder Cup Europe, or any player, team or venue.

Information collected

No user account is required to play Drive for Five. The data flows below describe what may be processed.

1. Google Analytics

Google Analytics is currently used to understand how visitors use the site so the game can be improved. When you consent, Google Analytics may collect information such as:

• pages or screens viewed;
• game interactions and events;
• browser and device information;
• approximate location;
• referring page or campaign information.

The site uses Google Consent Mode with denied defaults, so non-essential analytics storage is denied until you consent. While consent remains denied, limited cookieless or consent-state signals may still be sent to Google depending on Google's implementation. These limited signals are not used to set non-essential analytics cookies.

2. Google AdSense — approval pending

At the time this notice was last updated, Google AdSense approval was pending and advertisements were not being served. Google AdSense code is installed so the site can be reviewed for Google advertising services.

If and when the site is approved and ads are introduced, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies, where the required consent has been given, to:

• deliver ads;
• measure advertising performance;
• prevent fraud and abuse;
• personalise ads where you have granted permission.

When the Google consent message is active, you will be able to select Consent, Do not consent, or Manage options.

3. Public leaderboard

Submitting a result to the public leaderboard is optional. When you submit, the following may be stored through Supabase:

• chosen display name;
• selected side;
• Cups won;
• points;
• difficulty;
• ranking score;
• submission time.

Your display name and score information may be publicly visible. Do not use a display name containing information you do not want shown publicly.

4. Local device storage

The game may store small interface preferences locally in your browser, such as whether the pairing-help message has been dismissed. These preferences stay on your device.

Why the information is used

• consent is used for non-essential analytics and advertising technologies;
• Analytics is used to understand site usage and improve the game;
• the public leaderboard is operated to provide the feature requested by a player who chooses to submit a result;
• basic technical processing may be used to operate, secure and troubleshoot the site.

Third-party services

The following providers may process information under their own privacy terms, and may process information outside the United Kingdom using their stated safeguards:

• Google Analytics;
• Google AdSense and Google's advertising partners;
• Supabase.

Retention

• Analytics information is retained according to the relevant Google Analytics settings and policies.
• If AdSense is approved and ads are introduced, advertising information will be retained according to the relevant Google settings and policies.
• Public leaderboard entries may remain visible until they are removed, moderated or the service is discontinued.
• You may request removal of a leaderboard entry by emailing driveforfivegame@gmail.com and providing enough information to identify the entry.

Choices and rights

You may:

• accept or reject non-essential technologies;
• manage individual consent purposes;
• withdraw or change consent later;
• request access, correction or deletion of personal information held by the operator;
• object to or restrict certain processing where applicable;
• complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.

Children

Drive for Five is a general-audience sports game and does not require an account or age information. Players should not include personal or sensitive information in a public leaderboard display name.

Changes to this notice

This notice may be updated when the services or legal requirements change, and the date at the top will be updated.
